Philosophy and Contemporary Cinema explores the complex relationship between art and philosophical thought through close readings of significant films of the 21st century.
Drawing on thinkers such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Ludwig Wittgenstein andCarl Jung, the book approaches cinema through both philosophical and psychoanalytic perspectives. Films such as Dogtooth, The White Ribbon, There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men are examined as sites where hidden philosophical tensions and symbolic structures emerge, revealing how cinema can interrogate and reshape our understanding of social reality.
The book was published by Iolkos Publishers in 2025 and was presented at the London Book Fair 2026.
